httpsdecryption_stonegateStop encrypted attacks

StoneGate 5.0 can inspect SSL encrypted web traffic
and remove attacks from it.

Hackers and intruders use encryption to hide their malicious activity from traditional network security devices. Traditional network security devices cannot see inside the encrypted traffic and therefore cannot protect against threats that are hidden there.

Consider this example, an employee surfs the web and goes to a familiar web site that uses SSL encryption. The employee assumes that the web site is secure as it is using encryption. Bad news is that the same web site has been hacked and now the hacker can use the web site to attack against the emloyee's browser exploiting a known vulnerability. Once the browser has been compromised, the web site installs malware to the system, which can then "call home".

Now, the employee's computer can be used, for example, as a part of the botnet or the malware can be used to disclose confidential information outside of the company. Traditional network security protection systems could not do anything to stop this as all the traffic between employee's computer and web site was encrypted. StoneGate 5.0 eliminates the problem and stops attacks hiding inside the encrypted traffic.
