New StoneGate SSL VPN Solutions Secure Mobile Access to the Cloud, Improve Always-on Connectivity
New virtual and physical solutions designed to boost productivity, collaboration, security
ATLANTA – March 11, 2010 – Stonesoft, a global provider of proven,
innovative network security solutions, today introduced three new products designed to provide
secure mobile and remote access. This includes the new StoneGate SSL VPN Virtual solution,
StoneGate SSL VPN 1.4 and StoneGate SSL-1060.
These solutions represent Stonesoft’s latest technological advancements toward improved
virtual and physical network security for today’s remote and mobile workers. The StoneGate SSL VPN
solution gives organizations the ability to provide controlled yet flexible remote access for their
employees, partners or customers. With the launch of these new StoneGate solutions, organizations
can optimize productivity and collaboration within today’s dispersed workforces, while retaining
full control over who accesses corporate information, when and from where.
Virtual SSL VPN appliance offers secure mobile access to the cloud
The StoneGate SSL VPN Virtual solution complements the company’s StoneGate Virtual Firewall and Virtual IPS solutions for virtual and cloud computing environments. The new solution allows rapid deployment and implementation of secure mobile access to cloud computing.As cloud computing becomes more prevalent in corporate business and virtualized data centers, there is a stronger need for secure access to corporate applications in the cloud. The StoneGate SSL VPN Virtual solution combines the need for granular access to the corporate web and legacy applications with the secure and authenticated profiling of users.
The solution is based on the Open Virtual Format (OVF) standard and provides multiple features that meet the needs of these environments, such as strong authentication, a flexible application portal and support for Federation ID standards such as SAML 2.0 and ADFS. The StoneGate SSL VPN Virtual Appliance is compatible with both VMware’s ESX/ESXi 3.5 and 4.0 (vSphere) versions.
StoneGate SSL VPN 1.4 delivers sophisticated authentication and access control
The StoneGate SSL VPN 1.4 offers organizations enhanced security provided with integrated mobile authentication methods, granular access control and a holistic view of access rights within a single integrated access policy.Additionally, the appliance provides easy management and administration of access control for all network users. Administrators can easily select the parameters, or a combination of parameters, that will grant or deny the access to applications. This includes sophisticated assessment and trace removal techniques to ensure that corporate security standards are enforced at all times for mobile and roaming users.
The StoneGate SSL VPN also includes advanced logging, auditing and reporting features that help businesses achieve industry, government and corporate regulatory compliance out-of-the-box.
New mid-range appliance offers spike licensing, always-on connectivity
The new StoneGate SSL-1060 appliance is designed for mid-size companies who need to provide a user base of 50 to 500 users with secure, authenticated remote access to business applications and high network performance. The appliance comes with the latest StoneGate SSL 1.4 software version, offering new features such as the ability to configure port forwarding configurations and Ticket Single Sign On (SSO) enhancements.With the debut of the StoneGate SSL-1060, Stonesoft is also introducing spike licensing, which is now available with all StoneGate SSL VPN devices. Spike licenses are temporary licenses used for increasing the number of users in emergency situations. For example, a second wave of H1N1 swine flu might keep employees at home or a flood might prevent them from being able to get to their business office. In such cases, the ability to quickly increase the number of remote users becomes business-critical.
